Triggering All Five Senses With Every Meal
Nestled in a corner of the Burlington Square shopping centre down Bencoolen Street, Hot Spot Café Restaurant has built a reputation as the go-to destination for zi char in Bugis, thanks to the fragrant aromas and great taste of its many dishes. Specialising in local Chinese as well as Thai-inspired cuisine, the dining spot has become especially famous for its fish soup stall, which draws long queues from many fans of the fresh and succulent taste of its sliced fish soup dish.
Feeding more than 100 diners every day, Hot Spot Café Restaurant also counts its Tom Yum Soup as one of its specialty dishes, and it has also proven to be a favourite amongst the lunchtime and dinner crowds that patronise the eating place. “It was a dish I had wanted to offer from the start, ever since I tasted a very good example of it at Jalan Besar,” revealed Ms Marie Lim, the proprietor of Hot Spot Café Restaurant. “We have since made it a specialty of our very own as well, and it has been so well-received that we were featured on a local TV food programme because of it!”
Marie remains passionate about food to this day, and this is reflected in her intention to continue introducing new dishes to the menu of Hot Spot Café Restaurant whenever she can. “If I find anything out there that is tasty enough, we will try to reproduce it right here at Hot Spot Café Restaurant, and give our diners new dishes to savour. I also hope to create some culinary specials of our very own, exclusive to Hot Spot Café Restaurant, so that we can truly make our mark on the F&B scene in Singapore.”
